Job Summary
MasterBrand Cabinets LLC invites applications for an accomplished Embraer Praetor 500 Captain to enhance its professional Flight Operations team. This full-time position is based at Huntingburg Airport (HNB) in Huntingburg, Indiana, and is integral to a two-pilot, single-aircraft operation fully supported by a dedicated maintenance technician. Operating under Federal Aviation Regulation Part 91, the Captain is entrusted with safely and efficiently meeting MasterBrand's executive transportation requirements throughout North America.
Reporting directly to the Director of Aviation, the Captain assumes ultimate responsibility for the safety, compliance, and efficiency of all flight operations. This pivotal role demands strict adherence to all applicable regulatory and company standards, alongside the consistent delivery of a superior level of service. Please note that this position is not commutable, and successful candidates must reside within a reasonable driving distance of Huntingburg Airport (HNB).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the Embraer Praetor 500 (EMB-545) aircraft safely and efficiently throughout North America.
- Execute thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight procedures in strict compliance with all FAA regulations and MasterBrand policies.
- Verify all facets of flight planning, including but not limited to, aircraft performance, optimal altitude selection, and prevailing weather conditions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with air traffic control and fellow crew members to ensure the safe, efficient, and effective conduct of all phases of flight operations.
- Provide exceptional, courteous, and professional service to all passengers and MasterBrand personnel.
- Apply robust Crew Resource Management (CRM) principles consistently.
- Exercise prudent and conservative judgment when making critical decisions to commence, delay, or terminate scheduled flight operations, while diligently striving to adhere to requested schedules and itineraries.
- Delegate necessary duties to applicable crew members to facilitate safe, efficient, and effective operational completion of assigned flights.
- Demonstrate acute situational awareness, sound decision-making, and effective communication skills during any emergency or abnormal situation.
- Manage all administrative responsibilities pertinent to assigned trips.
- Maintain comprehensive familiarity and unwavering compliance with all current regulations applicable to aircraft flight schedules, ground operations, and all MasterBrand and Aviation Department policies and procedures.
- Ensure continuous pilot proficiency and currency for all assigned aircraft to be operated as Pilot in Command, as well as for any other general responsibilities critical to flight safety.
- Attend and successfully complete all required regular recurrent training programs for aircraft authorized for Pilot in Command duties.
- Promptly report all aircraft maintenance discrepancies to the maintenance team.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the MasterBrand Aviation Department's Safety Management System (SMS), fostering a paramount safety culture in partnership with all Aviation Department team members.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule to effectively support dynamic flight schedules and itineraries.
- Uphold a professional demeanor, characterized by appropriate attire, confident conduct, and courteous passenger interaction, assuring passengers of their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Perform additional tasks and varying responsibilities as required to support departmental objectives.
Qualifications
Certifications
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with Multi-Engine Land rating.
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
Minimum Flight Experience
- Total Flight Hours in Fixed-Wing Aircraft: 3000 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC) Hours: 2000 hours
- Multi-Engine Land Hours: 1500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (PIC) Hours: 500 hours
- Turbine Aircraft Hours: 1000 hours
Skills & Competencies
- Demonstrated strong knowledge of FAA regulations, advanced flight planning techniques, and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
- Exceptional customer service skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written, with the proven ability to perform effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in aviation-specific software such as ForeFlight, alongside standard business applications including Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation or a related field.
- EMB-550 Type Rating (relevant to Praetor 500/600).
- Prior experience in corporate or business aviation environments is highly desirable.
