As Deputy Chief Flight Instructor, you will manage the Advanced flight instructors and deputize for the Chief Flight Instructor when required.
Day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
+ Responsible to the Chief Flight Instructor – L3 Academy– to assist with the delivery of the Advanced flying training programme at the Academy.
+ Responsible for UK Advanced cadet performance management.
+ Direct Line Manager for the UK Advanced Flight Instructor team.
+ Promote and maintain Flight Safety and Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) best practice as it applies to the effective delivery of the training programme.
+ To act as a Flight Instructor, Flight Check Instructor or, if qualified, Examiner for 50% of working time, with the remainder being devoted to DCFI.
+ You are expected to maintain your qualification and currency.
+ You will deputize for the Chief Flight Instructor as and when required.
+ Assist the Chief Flight Instructor to ensure the training programme is optimized, making the best use of the Company assets and ensuring compliance with the organization’s Operations and Training Manuals. Manage cadet leave and sickness demands accordingly.
+ Assist the Chief Flight Instructor to ensure cadets’ personal logbooks are maintained accurately, including monthly summaries and training/qualification sign-offs.
+ Review and monitor cadet CARS reports to ensure accurate and timely completion to the required quality levels.
+ Assist the Chief Flight Instructor to generate end of course reports and coordinate the cadet signout process.
+ Work constantly with all members of the training team to maintain flying standards and discipline.
+ Conduct flight instruction of MEP class rating, ME-CPL, BIFM and PIFM (ME-IR) Modular syllabuses and Integrated and MPL syllabuses.
+ You will represent the Airline Academy to the flying training industry as and when required.
+ Undertake other tasks that from time to time a DCFI could reasonably be expected to undertake.
Knowledge and skills required:
+ Flight Instructor experience
+ Experience of working with the UK CAA and EASA
+ Ability to work in a high pressured and dynamic environment
+ A “can do” attitude and able to operate and make decisions in a high pressure business environment
+ Excellent management and communication skills with a proven track record of successfully leading a team
+ Strong Customer-focused and Customer care skills
+ Strong report writing skills
+ Self-motivated
+ Ability to adapt learning styles and differentiate between cadets
+ Ability to manage teams of flight instructors
Essential Qualifications:
+ Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL)
+ Multi Engine Piston Rating (MEP)
+ Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR)
+ Valid UK Class 1 Medical
+ Current FI Rating
