Pilot in Command – Citation XLS/XLS+
Full-Time Position – Scottsdale, AZ
Jet Linx is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) for its Citation XLS/XLS+ aircraft fleet. This full-time position, based in Scottsdale, AZ, supports both Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations within a premier private jet company. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient conduct of all assigned flights in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and company procedures, reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot. A crucial requirement for this role is the ability to reside within a two-hour call-out radius of the Scottsdale home base or a willingness to relocate.
Position Summary
The Pilot in Command will serve a pivotal role, ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency for Jet Linx's midsize jet aircraft. This position requires a professional who can consistently uphold stringent regulatory and company standards, contributing to the exceptional service expected by clients and maintaining Jet Linx’s reputation for operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must possess a robust flight history, including:
- Total Time: 3,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 2,000 hours
- Total Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total PIC Time in Type (Citation XLS/XLS+): 250 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 1,500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine PIC Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 500 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 300 hours
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the Pilot in Command include, but are not limited to:
- Rigorous management of duty, flight, and rest periods in full compliance with company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining consistent and clear communication with company operations regarding standby duties, trip assignments, position updates, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reporting.
- Proficiently maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and software applications to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensuring the absolute currency of all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals.
- Upholding a current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate at all times.
- Exhibiting strong, proactive, and sound decision-making abilities under all operational conditions.
- Consistently embodying and demonstrating Jet Linx’s core values in every professional interaction.
Additional Qualifications and Expectations
- Possession of initial or recurrent Part 142 training in the Citation XLS/XLS+ type within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
- A valid U.S. driver's license or the immediate ability to obtain one.
- Demonstrated eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- A current, valid passport with unrestricted international travel capabilities, particularly to Canada and Caribbean nations.
- An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the immediate ability to obtain one.
- An FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and willingness to undergo random drug/alcohol testing as required by regulations and company policy.
- The capacity to successfully release and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, commensurate with aviation operational demands.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- Physical aptitude to frequently move up to 50 pounds and perform duties primarily in and around aircraft and terminal environments.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Pilot in Command position ranges from $145,000 to $200,000. The actual compensation package is determined by geographic location, specific aircraft size (crew position), and the candidate's relevant education, training, and extensive experience.
