Pilot in Command – Citation XLS

Jet Linx is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Pilot in Command for a full-time position based in Scottsdale, Arizona. This pivotal role involves operating a Citation XLS aircraft for Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations within the private aviation sector. Candidates must currently reside, or be willing to relocate, within a two-hour call-out radius of the Scottsdale base to ensure operational readiness.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Pilot in Command (PIC) holds primary responsibility for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This includes meticulous adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, ensuring the highest standards of aviation safety and operational excellence.
Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following minimum flight experience requirements:
- Total Time: 3500 hours
- Total PIC: 2000 hours
- Total Time in Type (Citation XLS preferred): 250 hours
- Total PIC Time in Type (Citation XLS preferred): 250 hours
- Total Multi-Engine: 1500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine PIC: 500 hours
- Total Turbine: 500 hours
- Total Instrument: 300 hours
Essential Functions
The essential functions of the Pilot in Command include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Meticulously manage duty, flight, and rest periods in strict accordance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintain proactive and consistent communication with company dispatch regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight documentation.
- Routinely maintain and manage Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and software applications to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company operational manuals are current and readily accessible.
- Maintain a current and valid First-Class Medical Certificate.
- Exhibit robust and proactive decision-making capabilities, particularly in dynamic operational environments.
- Consistently embody and promote Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions and operations.
Other Requirements
Additionally, qualified candidates should possess the following attributes and capabilities:
- Preferred: Initial or recurrent Part 142 training in the Citation XLS type rating obtained within the last 24 months.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Demonstrable proof of eligibility to work legally in the United States.
- Possession of a current, valid passport with unrestricted international travel capability.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain one promptly.
- A current First-Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
- Willingness to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and adhere to random drug and alcohol testing protocols as required by regulation.
- Unrestricted travel capability to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Ability to consent to and successfully pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Record Database (PRD) review with a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational demands dictate.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent extensive work experience is required.
- The majority of work will be conducted within and around aircraft and aviation terminals.
- Physical ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Compensation
Jet Linx provides a highly competitive compensation and benefits package designed to attract top-tier aviation professionals. The starting base annual salary for the Pilot in Command – Citation XLS position ranges from $145,000 to $200,000. The final salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's geographic location, specific aircraft size and crew position, and their demonstrated education, training, and experience.
