Aviation Professional Opportunity: Second in Command - Challenger 604/605
Position Overview
Jet Linx is actively recruiting experienced aviation professionals to serve as Second in Command (SIC) for its distinguished fleet of heavy jet aircraft, specifically the Challenger 604/605. This full-time position will operate under both Part 91 and Part 135 flight regulations. The successful candidate must reside within or be willing to relocate to the Miami, FL base area, ensuring a proximity of no more than a two-hour call-out time from their home base.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operation of company aircraft. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Essential Functions and Duties
- Diligent management of duty, flight, and rest periods, ensuring compliance with both company policies and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Maintaining consistent and effective communication with company operations regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position updates, and pre- and post-flight reporting.
- Proficient management and maintenance of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and associated applications.
- Ensuring the currency and accessibility of all navigation charts, publications, and company operational manuals.
- Possession and maintenance of a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise strong, proactive decision-making skills in dynamic operational environments.

Additional Requirements and Preferences
- Preference will be given to candidates possessing initial or recurrent 142 training in the specific aircraft type within the past 24 months.
- Ability to secure and maintain a valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Verification of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Possession of a current passport.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the demonstrated ability to obtain one.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radio Telephone Operator Permit.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and willingness to participate in random drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Unrestricted authorization for international travel to all European Union (EU) countries, Canada, and Caribbean nations.
- Ability to successfully release and pass a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Record Database (PRD) review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience is mandatory.
- The role involves a majority of work conducted in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
- Ability to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $135,000 to $170,000. The final salary determination will be influenced by factors such as geographic location, aircraft size (and associated crew positions), relevant educational background, specialized training, and the candidate's overall professional experience.
