Second in Command – Challenger 604/605

Jet Linx is currently seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to serve as a Second in Command (SIC) for its Challenger 604/605 heavy jet aircraft. This full-time position is based in Miami, Florida, and involves both Part 91 and 135 flight operations. The ideal candidate will reside within a two-hour call-out time of the home base or be willing to relocate.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command plays a crucial role in the preparation and safe execution of all flight operations. The SIC will ensure that all flights are conducted in strict adherence to Federal Aviation Regulations and established company protocols, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of each mission.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time is required.
  • The candidate must possess 500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
  • A minimum of 500 hours of multi-engine flight time is necessary.
  • The candidate must have accumulated 100 hours of turbine flight time.
  • A minimum of 150 hours of instrument flight time is required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • The SIC is responsible for meticulously managing duty, flight, and rest periods to comply with both company policies and CFR requirements.
  • Maintain constant communication with the company for standby assignments, trip updates, position reports, and pre- and post-flight documentation.
  • The SIC will manage and maintain the electronic flight bag (EFB) hardware and applications.
  • Ensure that all navigation charts, publications, and company manuals are current and readily accessible.
  • Maintain a current First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Demonstrate strong, proactive decision-making capabilities.

Additional Requirements

  • Preference will be given to candidates with initial or recurrent 142 training in type within the last 24 months.
  • Must possess the ability to obtain a U.S. driver's license.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must hold a current valid passport.
  • Must possess an ATP certificate or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Maintain a current First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Must have a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Restricted Radio License.
  • Must be capable of passing a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to random drug/alcohol testing requirements.
  • Must have the unrestricted ability to travel to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a FAA Pilot Record Database review with a System Chief Pilot.
  • Must have the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is a requirement.
  • The majority of work will be carried out in and around aircraft and aircraft terminals.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
