Jet Linx, a prominent leader in the private aviation sector, is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Second in Command (SIC) to operate its Falcon 900EX and Falcon 900EZ heavy jet aircraft. This full-time pilot position is integral to the company's Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations. The role is based in the vibrant Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, Minnesota. A key requirement for this position is the successful candidate's residency within a two-hour call-out radius of the home base or a demonstrated willingness to relocate accordingly.
Position Summary
The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and highly efficient operation of company aircraft. This position demands strict adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company procedures, contributing significantly to Jet Linx’s commitment to delivering a premier private aviation experience.
Key Responsibilities
The SIC is entrusted with a comprehensive range of critical duties, which include, but are not limited to:
- Diligent management of duty, flight, and rest times, ensuring strict compliance with both company requirements and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining consistent and proactive communication with the company, encompassing standby duty assignments, timely trip notifications, accurate position calls, and comprehensive pre- and post-flight reports.
- Proactively managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and applications to ensure optimal functionality and operational readiness.
- Verifying that all navigation charts, aviation publications, and company manuals are current, accessible, and in full compliance.
- Holding and meticulously maintaining a current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- Consistently demonstrating strong, proactive, and sound decision-making skills across all operational scenarios.
- Embodying and upholding Jet Linx’s core values in every interaction and aspect of the role, both on and off duty.
Minimum Qualifications
Prospective candidates must meet or exceed the following flight time requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Total Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Additional Requirements
Qualified applicants are expected to possess the following essential credentials and attributes:
- An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- A current First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
- A valid FCC Restricted Radio License.
- Demonstrated proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- A current, valid U.S. passport, suitable for international travel.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a willingness to submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required by regulations and company policy.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally, including to all EU, Canada, and Caribbean countries.
- Authorization and successful completion of an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by the System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by operational demands.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent substantial work experience is required.
- Physical capability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, with the majority of work duties performed in and around aircraft and airport terminals.
- Initial or recurrent FAR Part 142 training in type (Falcon 900EX/EZ) within the last 24 months is highly preferred.
Compensation and Benefits

The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $135,000 to $170,000. The final base salary offered will be commensurate with factors such as geographic location, specific aircraft size and crew position, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
