Captain, Gulfstream 600/G650 - White Plains, New York
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Captain to join our team in White Plains, New York. As a Captain, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Gulfstream 600/G650 aircraft, ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and quality.
Position Summary:
The Captain reports directly to the Lead Captain, adhering to company operating policies and procedures. As the Pilot in Command, you will exercise full authority over all flights to which you are assigned, making the final decisions regarding the safe conduct of each flight.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate (maintained)
- 4,000 hours Total Fixed Wing Time
- 1,500 hours Multi-Engine Land Time
- 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command Time
- 1,500 hours Turbojet Time
- 1,500 hours Turbine Time
- 100 hours Night Time
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument Time
- 5 years of aviation experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions
- Valid driver's license
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and canceling flights as necessary based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures during each flight.
- Institute necessary changes en route to maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the Second in Command.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies on the aircraft discrepancy log and report them promptly to the Director of Maintenance or their designee.
- Determine whether inoperative items can be deferred or require repair based on the approved MEL and instructions from the DOM or designee.
- Verify that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and associated procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or authorized agency.
- File or initiate the filing of flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for the intended landing airport and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In-Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the 125 Standard Security Program or Private Charter Standard Security Program, as applicable.
- Conduct passenger safety briefings or assign this duty to the Second in Command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when the Second in Command upgrades to Pilot in Command in that aircraft.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End-of-Day (EOD) report to Operations Control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively participate in open information sharing regarding all safety issues, reporting safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate specific duties while maintaining ultimate responsibility for those duties.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Represent Jet Aviation as one company, both internally and externally, with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
