Pilot in Command
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command to join our team. Reporting to the Lead Captain, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all assigned flights, upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command experience.
- 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours turbine time.
- 100 hours night flight time.
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexibility to work variable schedules.
- Unrestricted ability to travel internationally.
- Valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of assigned aircraft, including determination of departure times, flight routes, and flight cancellations based on prevailing weather and operational conditions.
- Strict adherence to all applicable federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implementation of necessary in-flight adjustments to maintain compliance with company standards and ensure flight safety.
- Safe and prudent flight conduct, in accordance with industry best practices and company standards.
- Accurate and timely completion of all required flight paperwork.
- Comprehensive briefing of the Second-in-Command on all aspects of the flight.
- Accurate recording and timely reporting of all aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance or designee, utilizing the approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL).
- Verification of flight crew fitness for duty prior to each flight.
- Thorough understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure aircraft post-flight, including arranging hangar storage as needed or instructed.
- Acquisition of current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from authorized sources.
- Filing of flight plans with the FAA or relevant ICAO state ATC facility.
- Comprehensive analysis of area, en-route, and terminal charts for the intended airport and alternates.
- Performance of In-TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) functions under the provisions of the applicable security program.
- Conduct or assign passenger safety briefings.
- Mentoring and training of the Second-in-Command to prepare for Pilot-in-Command responsibilities.
- Timely submission of pre-departure leg manifests and end-of-day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Active participation in safety reporting and proactive hazard identification.
- Immediate reporting of hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety. Note that while the Pilot in Command may delegate duties, responsibility remains with the Pilot in Command.
- Performance of other duties as assigned.
- Representing Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
