Captain - Gulfstream G500
Jet Aviation seeks a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join its team in Opa-Locka, Florida. This is a full-time, onsite position offering the opportunity to take command of a Gulfstream G500, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of flights worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Exercise ultimate authority for the safe conduct of all assigned flights, adhering to company, federal, and local regulations.
- Maintain a constant focus on safety, security, and quality throughout all flight operations.
- Make informed decisions regarding departure times, routes, and potential flight cancellations based on weather and other relevant factors.
- Proactively manage en route changes, ensuring continued compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and airmanship, conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner.
- Diligently complete all required trip paperwork, adhering to established procedures.
- Effectively communicate with and brief the Second in Command on all flight aspects.
- Meticulously document and report any aircraft discrepancies to the Director of Maintenance.
- Verify flight crew adherence to dress code and ensure they are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as needed.
- Obtain and analyze up-to-date weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS.
- File and manage flight plans with appropriate authorities.
- Review and interpret area, en route, and terminal charts.
- Perform the duties of In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) when required.
- Conduct or delegate passenger safety briefings.
- Mentor and train the Second in Command, preparing them for potential Pilot in Command responsibilities.
- Submit timely leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control.
- Actively participate in safety initiatives, reporting all hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Professionally represent Jet Aviation to industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with a Gulfstream G500 type rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1500 hours multi-engine land experience.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command time.
- 1500 hours turbojet experience.
- 1500 hours turbine time.
- 100 hours of night flying experience.
- 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Flexible schedule and willingness to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Valid driver's license.

Physical Demands:
This role requires physical dexterity for handling aircraft controls and maneuvering within the aircraft cabin. The candidate must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed. Lifting and moving up to 50 pounds is occasionally required. Acute vision, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, is essential.
Work Environment:
The work environment encompasses both maintenance hangars and upscale customer areas. Moderate noise levels are typical, with occasional increases during aircraft arrivals and departures. Exposure to vibrations and occasional fuel fumes is expected. The candidate must be comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures within the hangar.
