Position Summary:
The Pilot in Command is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights, prioritizing safety, security, and quality at all times. This individual exercises ultimate authority for the safe conduct of each flight and reports directly to the Lead Captain regarding company operating policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating
- FAA First Class Medical Certificate (maintained throughout employment)
- 4,000+ hours Total Fixed Wing flight time
- 1,500+ hours Multi-Engine Land flight time
- 2,000+ hours Pilot-in-Command flight time
- 1,500+ hours Turbojet flight time
- 1,500+ hours Turbine flight time
- 100+ hours Night flight time
- 75+ hours Actual or Simulated Instrument flight time
- 5+ years of aviation experience
- Flexibility to work varied schedules
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction
- Valid driver's license
Main Responsibilities:
- Safe and prudent aircraft operation in accordance with industry and company standards
- Determination of departure times, routes, and flight cancellations based on weather and operational considerations
- Ensuring compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures
- Implementing necessary adjustments to flight plans based on en route conditions
- Accurate completion of all trip paperwork
- Clear and thorough communication with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight
- Meticulous recording of aircraft discrepancies and immediate reporting to the Director of Maintenance
- Verification of flight crew attire, mental fitness, and physical readiness for duty
- Maintenance of comprehensive knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including hangar storage arrangements as needed
- Obtaining and analyzing current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS
- Filing flight plans with appropriate FAA or ICAO state ATC facilities
- Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for destination and alternate airports
- Performing the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as required
- Conducting or delegating passenger safety briefings
- Providing guidance and training to the Second in Command for future Pilot in Command responsibilities
- Timely submission of leg manifests and End of Day (EOD) reports to operations control
- Active participation in safety initiatives, including reporting of hazards and concerns
- Immediate reporting of any hazardous actions, conduct, or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety
- Delegation of duties while retaining ultimate responsibility
- Serving as a Jet Aviation Brand Ambassador in interactions with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network
- Performing other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work, stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The Pilot in Command must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally, sometimes overhead. The position demands close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes both a heavy maintenance hangar and upscale customer areas, with moderate noise levels punctuated by occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. Exposure to vibration, occasional fuel fumes, and a range of weather conditions is expected. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures during certain seasons.
