Pilot in Command
Jet Aviation, a leader in global aviation since 1967, seeks a highly skilled and dedicated Pilot in Command. The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Lead Captain, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours total fixed-wing flight time.
- 1500 hours multi-engine land flight time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- 1500 hours turbojet flight time.
- 1500 hours turbine flight time.
- 100 hours night flight time.
- 75 hours actual or simulated instrument flight time.
- Five years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Unrestricted willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide.
- Valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Operate aircraft safely, determining optimal departure times and routes, and making necessary flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure strict compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implement necessary changes due to en route conditions, maintaining adherence to company protocols.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, meeting industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all required trip paperwork.
- Ensure a thorough and complete understanding with the second in command regarding all aspects of flight operations.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies on the log and report them to maintenance promptly.
- Verify that the flight crew is properly attired and fit for duty.
- Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency procedures.
- Secure the aircraft post-flight, arranging hangar storage when needed.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS.
- File flight plans with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, en route, and terminal charts for all intended destinations and alternate locations.
- Serve as the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC).
- Conduct passenger safety briefings.
- Provide mentorship and training to the second in command.
- Complete and send leg manifests and end-of-day reports to operations control.
- Proactively participate in open information sharing on safety issues, reporting all hazards and concerns.
- Immediately report any hazardous conduct or events to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as necessary but maintain overall responsibility.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to use hands and fingers, stand, walk, sit, and occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds overhead. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The employee must be able to work in both heavy maintenance and upscale customer areas. The noise level is moderate to loud with occasional exposure to aircraft noise. The employee will be exposed to vibration, occasional fuel fumes, and varying weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme temperatures.
