Position Summary:
The Pilot in Command reports directly to the Lead Captain, adhering to all company operating policies and procedures. The individual is ultimately responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all assigned flights, with an unwavering focus on safety, security, and quality. This position requires exercising full pilot-in-command authority and assumes final accountability for the safe conduct of each flight.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possesses a valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Maintains a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum of 4,000 hours of total fixed-wing flight experience.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of multi-engine land flight experience.
- Minimum of 2,000 hours of Pilot-in-Command flight experience.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of turbojet flight experience.
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of turbine flight experience.
- Minimum of 100 hours of night flight experience.
- Minimum of 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument flight experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Unrestricted ability and willingness to travel extensively worldwide.
- Possesses a valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the aircraft, determining optimal departure times and routes, and making decisions to delay or cancel flights based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures during flight operations.
- Adapt to changing conditions en route, implementing necessary adjustments while adhering to all company standards.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligning with both industry and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures.
- Ensure thorough communication and shared understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly report them to the Director of Maintenance or their designee. Refer to the approved MEL (Minimum Equipment List) and, as directed, determine if an inoperative item can be deferred or requires repair. Complete the aircraft discrepancy log as required.
- Confirm that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized to operate, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging for hangar storage when deemed necessary or as directed by company management.
- Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from an FAA Flight Service Station or other authorized agency.
- File, or cause to be filed, a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the intended airport of landing and its alternates.
- Serve as the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program, as applicable.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or delegate that duty to the Second in Command.
- Share knowledge and skills with the Second in Command to prepare them to assume the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or when upgrading to Pilot in Command in that aircraft.
- Complete and submit the leg manifest to Operations Control prior to each departure.
- Complete and submit the End of Day (EOD) report to Operations Control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively participate in promoting an open environment for the sharing of all safety information and reporting of all safety hazards and concerns.
- Make an immediate report of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegate duties as necessary while maintaining full responsibility for those duties.
- Fulfill other duties as needed.
- Represent Jet Aviation as a cohesive entity both internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with occasional high volume when aircraft arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration, and occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The hangar environment may be extremely hot or cold depending on the season.
