Position Summary

Jet Aviation invites experienced aviation professionals to take command as a Lead Captain for its Gulfstream 280 operations in Sellersburg, IN. Key Responsibilities

The Lead Captain will be responsible for a diverse range of duties, including:

  • Flight Operations & Safety Leadership: Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, which encompasses diligent pre-flight and post-flight inspections, precise flight plan filing, and thorough analysis of weather and route conditions to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Crew Management & Development: Providing mentorship and guidance to crew members to foster professional growth, conducting performance reviews, and coordinating schedules and training to ensure seamless operational readiness and crew proficiency.
  • Safety Culture & Regulatory Compliance: Actively promoting a robust safety culture, strictly adhering to best practices and regulatory requirements, conducting comprehensive passenger briefings, and promptly addressing any aircraft discrepancies in close collaboration with maintenance teams.
  • Administrative Excellence: Managing all essential trip documentation, maintaining up-to-date aircraft manuals, assisting in the crew hiring process, and representing Jet Aviation with the utmost professionalism in all internal and external interactions.

Qualifications and Experience

Jet Aviation seeks aviation professionals prepared to lead and excel in a dynamic and demanding environment. Candidates must possess:

  • Expert Credentials: An Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Proven Aviation Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience, accumulating 3,500 hours of total fixed-wing flight time. This must include:
    • 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC)
    • 1,500 hours multi-engine time
    • 500 hours turbojet time
    • 500 hours turbine time
    • 100 hours night flight time
    • 75 hours simulated instrument time
  • Operational Flexibility: The ability to adapt to a variable work schedule to meet diverse flight mission profiles.
  • Global Mobility: A willingness to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensing: A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Lead Captain will navigate a variety of operational environments, requiring:

  • Physical Requirements: The ability to perform tasks involving regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Frequent lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting, is also required. Candidates must maintain sharp vision across various ranges and depths.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this Lead Captain position is $265,000 to $275,000. It is important to note that this range represents an anticipation and not a guaranteed offer of compensation. The final salary will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's experience, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
