Position Summary

Jet Aviation is seeking a professional Lead Captain for the Gulfstream 280 to ensure the safe, efficient, and professional operation of flight assignments. The Lead Captain serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), embodying the values of Jet Aviation while providing leadership, mentorship, and operational excellence. This role requires a commitment to safety, discretion, and the delivery of a superior travel experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exercise ultimate responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights, including flight planning, weather analysis, and pre-flight/post-flight inspections.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to crew members, fostering professional growth and coordinating schedules and training.
  • Uphold a robust safety culture by adhering to industry best practices, conducting passenger briefings, and collaborating with maintenance teams regarding aircraft discrepancies.
  • Manage administrative duties, including trip documentation, aircraft manual maintenance, and support for crew hiring processes.
  • Serve as a Jet Aviation Brand Ambassador, maintaining high professional standards in all internal and external interactions.

Requirements

  • Certifications: Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and FAA First Class Medical.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of aviation experience.
  • Flight Hours: 3,500 hours total fixed-wing time, including:
    • 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command
    • 1,500 hours multi-engine
    • 500 hours turbojet
    • 500 hours turbine
    • 100 hours night
    • 75 hours simulated instrument
  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s license.
  • Operational Readiness: Ability to work a variable schedule and travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree.
  • Appropriate aircraft type rating and currency.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The role requires the ability to perform tasks involving regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Candidates must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. The work environment varies from maintenance hangars to upscale customer settings and may include exposure to high noise levels, vibrations, fuel fumes, and seasonal temperature extremes.

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this position is $265,000 to $275,000, dependent upon candidate experience, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
