Position Summary

The Lead Captain for the Gulfstream 280 assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of all assigned flight operations. This pivotal role transcends traditional piloting duties, encompassing significant leadership and mentorship responsibilities. Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Possesses a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Proven Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience, accumulating 3,500 total fixed-wing flight hours. This includes 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC), 1,500 hours multi-engine, 500 hours turbojet, 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night flight, and 75 hours of simulated instrument time.
  • Availability: Demonstrated flexibility to accommodate a variable flight schedule and mission profiles.
  • Global Mobility: Unrestricted willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensing: Holds a valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Captain's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Flight Operations Leadership: Commands the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, encompassing comprehensive pre-flight and post-flight inspections, precise flight plan filing, and thorough analysis of weather and route conditions for optimal decision-making.
  • Crew Management & Development: Mentors and guides flight crew members to facilitate professional growth, conducts performance evaluations, and coordinates schedules and training to ensure seamless operational continuity.
  • Safety & Compliance Advocacy: Actively promotes a robust safety culture, strictly adheres to industry best practices, conducts thorough passenger briefings, and collaborates closely with maintenance teams to promptly resolve aircraft discrepancies.
  • Administrative Oversight: Manages all necessary trip documentation, maintains up-to-date aircraft manuals, assists in the recruitment of new crew members, and consistently represents Jet Aviation with the utmost professionalism in all internal and external engagements.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Embodies the professional image of Jet Aviation, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the company's mission of delivering unparalleled aviation service.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Physical Requirements: This role necessitates regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional requirements for climbing, kneeling, or crouching. The ability to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting, is essential. Candidates must possess acute vision across various ranges and depths.
  • Environmental Conditions: The Lead Captain will operate within diverse environments, ranging from active heavy maintenance areas to premium customer facilities. Exposure to the dynamic atmosphere of aircraft arrivals and departures is common, which may involve occasional high noise levels, vibrations, and fuel fumes. Compensation

The anticipated annual salary range for the Lead Captain position is between $265,000 and $275,000. It is important to note that this range serves as an estimate and is not a guaranteed offer. The final compensation package will be meticulously determined based on the candidate's comprehensive experience, specific geographic location, and other pertinent factors.
