Position Summary
Jet Aviation is actively recruiting a Lead Captain to command Gulfstream 500 aircraft operations. This pivotal role carries the ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of all flight assignments. What We're Looking For
Jet Aviation seeks highly motivated aviation professionals ready to lead and excel in a demanding and dynamic operational environment. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Expert Credentials: Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years of aviation experience with 3,500 hours of total fixed-wing flight time. This includes at least 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command, 1,500 hours in multi-engine aircraft, 500 hours in turbojet aircraft, 500 hours in turbine-powered aircraft, 100 hours of night flying, and 75 hours of simulated instrument time.
- Flexibility: Demonstrated ability to work a variable schedule to accommodate flight mission requirements.
- Global Readiness: Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide without restriction.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- License: Possess a valid driver’s license.

What You'll Do
The Lead Captain will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties designed to ensure safe, efficient, and professional flight operations:
- Lead with Confidence: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, including conducting thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, meticulously filing flight plans, and analyzing weather and route conditions to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Crew Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide crew members to foster professional growth, conduct regular performance reviews, and coordinate schedules and training initiatives to maintain seamless operational continuity.
- Champion Safety & Compliance: Actively promote a robust safety culture by adhering to industry best practices, delivering clear passenger briefings, and promptly addressing any aircraft discrepancies in close collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Provide Administrative Excellence: Manage all necessary trip documentation, maintain current aircraft manuals, assist in the crew hiring process, and consistently represent Jet Aviation with the utmost professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
- Represent the Brand: Serve as a primary ambassador for Jet Aviation, embodying professionalism and dedication to the company's mission of delivering exceptional client service.
What You'll Experience
This role involves various physical demands and environmental exposures inherent to aviation operations:
- Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to perform tasks involving regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. Candidates must be able to frequently lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting, and possess sharp vision across various ranges and depths.
- Work Environment: The work environment encompasses a range of settings, from heavy maintenance areas to refined customer spaces. Individuals will experience the dynamic atmosphere of aircraft arrivals and departures, which may include occasional high noise levels, vibrations, and exposure to fuel fumes. Adaptability to changing weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes within hangar facilities is also necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $290,000 - $330,000. Please note that this range is indicative and not a guaranteed offer of compensation. The final salary will be determined based on a comprehensive evaluation of factors such as the candidate's experience, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
