Position Summary
Jet Aviation seeks a highly experienced and discreet Captain to command the Gulfstream 550 in a premier private aviation environment. Key Responsibilities (Main Responsibilities)
The Captain functions as the Pilot in Command, maintaining the ultimate responsibility for all assigned flights and representing Jet Aviation as a core brand ambassador. Key responsibilities include:
- Command and Compliance: Taking complete command of all assigned Gulfstream 550 flights, making critical operational decisions to ensure maximum safety and strict compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations.
- Operational Excellence: Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems to ensure precise operation. This includes managing flight plans, fuel loads, and adapting to dynamic conditions to guarantee a seamless and high-quality travel experience.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Collaborating closely with the Second in Command (SIC), providing necessary instruction, imparting knowledge, and mentoring the SIC to prepare them for increased leadership roles.
- Safety and Security: Actively promoting and championing an open safety culture, including performing the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the applicable security program. Conducting required passenger safety briefings, reporting all observed hazards, and meticulously recording and reporting all aircraft discrepancies as they occur.
- Administrative Duty: Diligently managing all trip documentation, ensuring aircraft manuals are current and accessible, and accurately completing all required trip paperwork in accordance with company procedures.
Minimum Professional Requirements
Jet Aviation seeks highly qualified aviators prepared to meet the demands of global private jet operations. Candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Certificates: Valid Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (ATP) and current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Total Flight Time: 3,500 hours total fixed-wing time.
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command (fixed-wing).
- Multi-Engine: 1,500 hours multi-engine time.
- Jet Experience: 500 hours turbojet time.
- Turbine Experience: 500 hours turbine time.
- Instrument Time: 75 hours Simulated Instrument time.
- Night Time: 100 hours night flight time.
- Education: High school diploma required.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively worldwide without restriction and the ability to work a highly variable schedule to fulfill mission profiles.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this highly specialized position is $290,000 to $310,000. The final salary determination will be based on relevant factors including the candidate’s experience level and geographical location.
