Position Summary
The G550 Captain is instrumental in supporting aircraft operations, upholding the highest standards of flight safety and operational procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional professional services to Jet Aviation's esteemed clients. This pivotal role reports directly to the Director of Flight Operations.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensures the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard.
- Guarantees adherence to all operational procedures and checklists as stipulated in the Operations Manual (FOM).
- Confirms that all crew members are at their assigned stations prior to take-off, during final approach, and landing.
- Prohibits any crew member from engaging in activities during take-off, initial climb, final approach, and landing that are not essential for the safe operation of the aircraft.
- Prevents the disabling or erasure of any flight data or cockpit voice recorder unless required for incident or accident investigation and would otherwise be automatically erased.
- Effectively coordinates work distribution within the flight crew to achieve optimal airmanship throughout the flight.
- Ensures precise navigation and strict adherence to minimum altitudes.
- Observes all aircraft system limitations and ensures the proper use and handling of the aircraft.
- Enforces the rigorous use of checklists.
- Confirms that sufficient usable fuel remains to proceed to an airport capable of a safe landing, with the final reserve fuel intact.
- Maintains close liaison with cabin crew to ensure all cabin safety requirements are met.
- Ensures the accurate completion of flight and technical logs.
- Files written occurrence and accident reports as necessary.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant aviation regulations, the JBJH/JBJS Operations Manual, and agreed aviation practices pertinent to the role.
- Upholds a high standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance as a representative of the company.
- Complies with regulations outlined in the Operations Manual (FOM) and the Air Navigation Order (ANO).
- Ensures all passengers receive a briefing on the location of emergency exits and the use of relevant safety and emergency equipment.
- Represents Jet Aviation as a unified entity both internally and externally, engaging with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) with a G550 type rating (FAA or EASA).
- Proficiency in communication.
- A minimum of 500 flight hours on type.
- Experience with AOC (Air Operator Certificate) operations.

Work Environment

The hangar environment can experience extreme temperatures during certain times of the year, and the general noise level is often loud.
