Pilot in Command (PIC) - Part 135 Operations
Position Overview
A distinguished managed aircraft client of George J. Priester Aviation is seeking a highly qualified and safety-conscious Pilot in Command (PIC) to lead flight operations for a Part 135 aircraft. This pivotal role is responsible for the safe, legal, and efficient operation of the assigned aircraft, ensuring meticulous adherence to all Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), company policies, and operational procedures. The PIC will oversee all aspects of flight preparation and execution, demonstrating exceptional leadership, technical proficiency, and a steadfast commitment to superior passenger service and risk management. This position offers approximately 350 flight hours annually and is based at KIXD.
Employment Note: This position is directly employed by the client aircraft owner. While George J. Priester Aviation supports the recruitment process, all interviews and selection will be conducted by the client. The successful candidate will be an employee of the client, not George J. Priester Aviation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assume ultimate authority and responsibility for the safe operation of the aircraft on all assigned flights, ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations, operational manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-flight planning, including detailed weather analysis, performance calculations, route development, fuel management, and thorough aircraft airworthiness assessments.
- Execute exemplary Crew Resource Management (CRM) by fostering effective communication and coordination among all flight crew members throughout all flight phases, promoting a professional, efficient, and cooperative team environment.
- Deliver an unparalleled level of passenger service, prioritizing passenger safety, comfort, and satisfaction, and serving as the primary liaison for client needs and requests during flight operations.
- Actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS), championing a proactive safety culture, identifying and mitigating operational risks, and contributing to safety audits and corrective action processes.
- Provide effective mentorship and leadership to First Officers and other flight crew members, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities and fostering professional development.
- Meticulously complete all post-flight documentation, including trip reports, logbook entries, and any necessary operational or maintenance notes, and promptly report any safety or equipment concerns.
- Maintain strict adherence to all FAA regulations and company policies, ensuring ongoing currency in required training, medical certifications, and up-to-date crew records.
Qualifications

Flight Experience:
- 3000 hours Total Time (TT)
- 1500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land (MEL)
- 500 hours Multi-Engine PIC (ME PIC)
- 500 hours Jet Flight Time
- 250 hours Instrument Flight Rules (IFR)
- 250 hours PIC in Type (Preferred)

Certifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a multi-engine land rating is mandatory.
- A current First-Class Medical Certificate is required.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit is preferred.

- Possesses extensive knowledge of FAA regulations, flight planning methodologies, and safety management systems.
- Demonstrates outstanding communication and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to make decisive and sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Proficient in utilizing modern flight planning and aviation management software.

Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in Part 135 operations is highly advantageous.
Compensation Package
- Eligible for a target bonus of 15-20%.
- Relocation compensation is negotiable and qualified move allowances will be coordinated with the Controller.
- Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000.
