Aviation Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) Job Description
A prestigious aviation training organization seeks a highly qualified and motivated Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (TKI) to join its ground school faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality theoretical instruction, ensuring all training is conducted in strict compliance with General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) regulations and the CAR FCL syllabus.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
The Theoretical Knowledge Instructor performs critical functions central to the success of pilot training programs, including:
- Delivering comprehensive theoretical knowledge instruction for pilot training programs, covering the full scope of GCAA CAR FCL subjects up to the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) level.
- Developing, reviewing, and meticulously updating course materials to ensure full regulatory adherence to the GCAA CAR FCL syllabus requirements.
- Providing essential support to the Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI) in strategic planning, including the design of training schedules, preparation of the examination question bank, and execution of other duties as delegated by the CTKI.
- Preparing, administering, invigilating, and rigorously assessing appropriate Theoretical Knowledge examinations.
- Continuously monitoring trainee performance and formally reporting on individual progress to management.
- Advising the CTKI on training-related concerns and issues pertaining specifically to student performance and progression.
- Offering individualized guidance, mentorship, and support to all trainees to foster successful academic outcomes.
- Ensuring the maintenance of accurate and complete course training records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Upholding rigorous standards of student conduct and discipline within the ground school environment.
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the following minimum qualifications to be considered for the Theoretical Knowledge Instructor position:
- Possession of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) or a license of higher grade.
- Mandatory English Language Proficiency (ELP) certification at Level 6.
- Demonstrated instructional capability across a minimum of six (6) of the following core GCAA theoretical subjects:
- Aircraft General Knowledge (AGK)
- AGK Instrumentation
- Principles of Flight
- Air Law and ATC Procedures / IFR Communication/Air Law
- Operational Procedures
- General Navigation
- Radio Navigation
- Flight Planning & Monitoring
