Flight Instructor
This position requires a highly skilled Flight Instructor to perform duties authorized by the GCAA Regulations, adhering to approved Training Manuals. The instructor will deliver a range of GCAA Pilot License courses within their scope of approval, including conducting synthetic flight instruction. The successful candidate will provide thorough briefings and de-briefings to trainee pilots, generating flight grades while ensuring all students comprehend and practice flight safety.
The Flight Instructor will manage student progress, ensuring timely advancement and promptly informing the Chief Flight Instructor (CFI) of any training delays or unsatisfactory performance. They will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, including student training logs, student logbooks, and computer records. The incumbent will ensure all students meet course standards, training requirements, and objectives as outlined in the applicable Training Manuals. They will initiate stage check requests and oversee timely course completion for all assigned students, including associated paperwork.
Furthermore, the Flight Instructor will monitor training aircraft maintenance, reporting safety concerns to maintenance personnel. They will also recommend improvements to curriculum and courseware, and develop new materials when assigned. They will provide theoretical knowledge instruction related to aircraft technology and assist the CFI and Head of Training (HT) with other training activities as required. In addition, the Flight Instructor will verify student eligibility for CAR FCL license issuance, maintain their own records, licenses, ratings, and certifications, as well as coordinate flight bookings and authorizations with flight operations.
Job Requirements
Candidates must possess a current CPL-IR or ATPL on an airplane, alongside a valid Flight Instructor Rating (Airplane) for Single Engine Piston Land or Multi Engine Piston Land, Single Engine Turbine Land. A minimum of 1500 hours of instructional experience is required. Preference will be given to Instrument Flight Instructors and Multi-Engine Instructors. A current Class 1 Medical Certificate, and the ability to pass a GCAA Class 1 Medical, are mandatory. All licenses, ratings, and Instrument Ratings must be current, with a minimum ELP Level 5. Applicants must also have an accident-free record.
