The Opportunity: Inflight Instructor
Frontier Airlines is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Inflight Instructor to join its dynamic team in Cheyenne, WY. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and service excellence by developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for flight attendants. The Inflight Instructor plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of aviation professionals, upholding both FAA regulations and Frontier's commitment to "Low Fares Done Right."
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive initial, recurrent, and requalification training programs for flight attendants, ensuring strict adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Oversee flight attendant trainees throughout initial training, providing expert performance assessment, management, coaching, and counseling. This includes administering progressive counseling and making termination decisions when necessary.
- Lead the writing, design, production, and dissemination of annual recurrent computer-based training (CBT) modules.
- Execute needs analysis, and lead the design, development, and production of robust training curriculum and materials, aligning with FAA requirements and corporate objectives.
- Maintain current qualification as a Frontier Airlines Flight Attendant.
- Supervise Inflight contract trainers and facilitators during designated training periods.
- Contribute to the writing and revision of the official Flight Attendant Manual.
- Provide constructive feedback to management and the flight attendant training team regarding training participant performance, fostering collaborative achievement of training goals.
- Maintain meticulous records of all training activities, participant data, and results.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor and coordinate all correspondence with the FAA in collaboration with the department manager.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely completion of all forms related to flight attendant training.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for flight attendant inquiries via phone and email questions.
- Engage in professional development by visiting other airline training facilities, attending industry conferences, and participating in relevant seminars.
- Plan, schedule, and meticulously prepare for flight attendant training sessions, including room setup and cleanup.
- Collaborate with other internal training departments to ensure integrated training solutions.
- Provide support to other departmental trainers and assist the department manager as required.
- Support and participate in special projects and committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a line flight attendant.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a FAR 121 program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional experience in teaching, training, or adult education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current knowledge of Airbus aircraft.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects and priorities.
- Superior instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills for large groups.
- Demonstrated ability in the evaluation, creation, design, and implementation of curriculum and supporting materials.
- Proficiency in conducting training needs assessments for diverse client groups.
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Computer competency, including advanced proficiency in word processing, Excel, database software, graphics, desktop publishing, and PowerPoint.
- Project management abilities, including production and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with regard to all sensitive information.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with the instructor group.
Working Conditions
- Equipment: Airbus aircraft, computers, door trainers, televisions, video equipment, projection equipment, and other Inflight training equipment.
- Work Environment: The role will involve working in varied environments including standard office settings, classrooms, outdoors, airport facilities, on aircraft, and other offsite locations. The schedule may include extended work hours (early morning and late night) and travel, dictated by station operations and hangar hours. The instructor must be willing to work on the aircraft as a regular crewmember for Initial Operating Experience (IOE) training and proficiency checks.
- Physical Effort: Light to moderate physical effort is required, involving handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently. The role may occasionally require handling objects up to 50 pounds, particularly when performing duties as a flight attendant.
Salary
The annual salary for this position ranges from $58,394 to $77,508.
