Position Summary

The Pilot-in-Command (PIC) reports to the Chief Pilot regarding company policies and procedures. This role involves FAR Part 91/135 operations as part of a crew. The PIC holds the responsibility for the safe transportation of passengers, crewmembers, and cargo during all aircraft operations. While the PIC may delegate duties, they maintain ultimate responsibility for those tasks. Candidates must be located within 90 minutes of Birmingham, AL; relocation is required if not currently local.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise final authority to operate the assigned aircraft, including the authority to delay, cancel, or discontinue flights based on safety conditions.
  • Conduct flight planning considering weather, routing, traffic conditions, airway facilities, and aircraft performance.
  • Ensure safe and prudent flight conduct, including reviewing maintenance status, performing preflight inspections, and verifying weight and balance.
  • Ensure all operations adhere to company policies, Operations Specifications, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain accurate trip paperwork and report all flight interruptions to the company prior to the next departure.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor, serving as an example for crewmembers regarding conduct, discipline, and adherence to standards.
  • Foster open communication and receptivity to input from all crewmembers to ensure safe flight operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (required).
  • Current First Class Medical (required).
  • 3500 hours total time (minimum).
  • 1500 hours PIC turbine (minimum).
  • G650 Aircraft type rating (strongly preferred).
  • Strong Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to travel to international destinations.
  • Enrollment in an FAA/DOT Drug & Alcohol Program.
  • Successful completion of a TSA Criminal History check.
