First Officer
Role Summary
The First Officer serves as the Second in Command, playing a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft. This pivotal position involves diligent adherence to all operational directives from the Captain or aircraft Commander, maintaining the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence in both normal and non-normal flight situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Flight Operations Support: Provides continuous and invaluable input and assistance to the Captain, actively contributing to the safe and efficient conduct of all flights.
- Brand Ambassadorship: Acts as a proud ambassador for the airline, especially while on duty, by upholding exceptional personal standards of discipline, conduct, and professional appearance.
- Welfare and Duty of Care: Demonstrates unwavering responsibility for the well-being and welfare of both the flight crew and all customers onboard.
- Aircraft Management Assistance: Supports the Commander in overseeing crucial pre-flight and post-flight activities, including appropriate fueling, baggage and cargo loading, and comprehensive aircraft servicing.
- Operational Compliance: Ensures the meticulous execution of all duties in strict accordance with the instructions and procedures detailed in the flydubai Operations Manuals and other relevant company guidelines.
- Information Security Responsibility (ISR): Reads and rigorously complies with the Company's ISR policies, promptly reporting any identified weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. Completes all mandatory ISR awareness sessions and integrates associated guidelines into daily business operations.
Qualifications
To be considered for this vital role, candidates must possess:
- A High School Diploma.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic, essential for effective communication in a diverse aviation environment.
- Flying Time Requirements:
- Ages 20-34: Minimum of 225 hours flying time.
- Ages 35-50: Minimum of 1,000 hours flying time.
- For foreign license holders, successful completion of the GCAA Air-law exam is required.
- English Language Proficiency (ELP) level 4 or above.
- Proof of completion of military service before joining (preferred) or official military exemption.
- A valid 1st Class Medical Certificate from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
- A Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with Instrument Rating (IR) and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course completion, leading to a Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
