The group operates under three distinct brands: Wing Aviation Group (an FAA Part 135 charter certificate operator), Wing Aviation Maintenance (specializing in aircraft maintenance), and Encore Plane Parts (focused on aircraft parts sales, particularly engines and rotables).
Role Objective
The Hawker 800 Captain is responsible for providing an exceptional level of customer service with a friendly, calm, and confident demeanor. This role requires close coordination with the flight crew to communicate flight activities effectively and ensure the highest standards of safety are maintained throughout every flight.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct comprehensive flight planning, integrating all applicable weather information and reports in strict adherence to Company policies, procedures, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
- Determine aircraft airworthiness based on FARs and Company policies, completing all required preflight inspections.
- Ensure flights are meticulously planned and adequately fueled to guarantee safe operations and compliance with all regulations.
- Operate the aircraft safely, effectively, and professionally throughout the designated duty period, following the Captain's instructions, FARs, and Company policies.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of the aircraft equipment, governing FARs, manuals, policies, procedures, and all relevant instructions.
- Proactively notify crew and passengers of turbulent weather conditions or any operational factors impacting the flight.
- Accurately complete the load manifest for each flight.
- Contribute to a reliable and punctual operation by consistently meeting all report, departure, and minimum turn times.
- Assist with and ensure the proper handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage, and cargo while at the terminal.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance in accordance with Company procedures.
- Present a professional appearance and adhere to the Company uniform dress code.
- Conduct oneself professionally at all times while on duty and observe all Rules of Conduct outlined in the Flight Operations Manual, Employee Handbook, and other applicable policies.
- Actively pursue continuous professional training to enhance performance and abilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Company and Chief Pilot.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and/or crawling.
- Capacity to remain seated for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 75 pounds at various heights.
- Adherence to visual acuity standards established by the FAA medical certification.
- Capability to hear verbal communications clearly in person, via telephone, and over a headset amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Sufficient stamina to work long days, on consecutive days, with frequent changes in temperature, climate, and weather conditions.
- Ability to move freely, effectively, and quickly within the aircraft's confined environment to perform all required functions.
- Ability to sit securely in the pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without modification.
Required Education and Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in a similar Captain role.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must meet specific hiring minimums within six months of the interview date.
- No certificate actions recorded since the interview date.
- No misdemeanor or felony convictions recorded since the interview date.
- Must accept a class date within six months of the interview date.
Language Skills
- Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting technical procedures and governmental regulations, often under time-sensitive or emergency conditions.
- Effective communication skills to present information and respond to inquiries from management, dispatch, crew, passengers, air traffic control, and the public.
- Fluent English speaking ability, including clear verbal commands during emergency situations.
Reasoning and Problem-Solving Ability
- Aptitude for solving practical problems and managing variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Capability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled formats.
