Role Summary
FlightSafety International is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Flight Instructor for the Dash 8 aircraft program. This vital role is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, ensuring compliance with all applicable aviation regulations and FlightSafety's rigorous training principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and meticulously prepare training materials that effectively support training delivery, tailored to client needs and in strict accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Accurately evaluate and measure trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or additional instructional support as necessary.
- Maintain precise and thorough training records for each client, contributing directly to their success in achieving their specified objectives.
- Proactively identify potential client training issues and seek appropriate assistance prior to the commencement of training execution.
- Ensure continuous maintenance of instructor qualifications in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Certifications
- Willingness and ability to participate in FlightSafety's Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- Alternatively, candidates without an ATP must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64, specifically without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
Preferred Experience
- Prior flight training experience under FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military aviation training contexts.
- A total flight time of 2,500 hours or more.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $92,575 - $157,550. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's specific qualifications, educational background, skills, and experience, as well as prevailing market demands. Physical Demands and Work Environment
The successful candidate will regularly engage in activities requiring the use of hands for detailed manipulation, reaching with arms, and effective verbal communication. Tasks may include standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and sensory perception (taste or smell).
Specific physical requirements for this role include:
- Ability to reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque pedals with both feet.
- Capability to reach and manipulate numerous controls within the simulator device from the instructor's chair.
- Proficiency in entering and exiting the simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Agility to move between the instructor station, screen, and podium while conducting classroom instruction.
- Capacity to safely exit a malfunctioned simulator device even when it is in a severely pitched attitude.
This position demands specific visual abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role also requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The work environment frequently involves proximity to moving mechanical parts. Occasionally, the employee may work in elevated or precarious locations and in various outdoor weather conditions. There is also potential for exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold or heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
