Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, a premier provider of professional aviation training and flight simulation technology, seeks a highly qualified Flight Instructor. This individual will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that effectively support training delivery and meet client needs, adhering to the established curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, recommending qualification or further training as necessary.
- Complete accurate training records for each client, supporting their achievement of learning objectives.
- Identify potential client training issues and proactively seek assistance prior to execution.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be able to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- If lacking an ATP, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating.
- Preferred: Experience with FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training environments.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Strong knowledge of relevant aviation regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and teach classes.
- Proficiency in facilitation and customer service.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The role involves regular use of hands for manipulating controls, reaching, and communicating. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus. The employee must possess the physical ability to reach and manipulate rudder controls, anti-torque pedals, and numerous simulator controls. They must also be able to enter and exit the simulator and move between the instructor station, screen, and podium. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high and precarious locations, outside weather conditions, and occasional exposure to various environmental conditions.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $85,250 to $145,200. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, education, skills, experience, and market demands.
