Flight Instructor (Rotorcraft)

Position Summary:
The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. This role ensures training adheres to aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles, providing clients with high-quality and effective learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts pilot ground and simulator training for clients participating in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develops and prepares training materials that support effective training delivery tailored to client needs and aligned with applicable curricula.
- Evaluates and measures trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or further training as required.
- Maintains accurate training records for each client, documenting their progress and contributing to their success in achieving desired objectives.
- Identifies potential client training issues and proactively seeks assistance before commencing training.
- Ensures personal Instructor qualifications are maintained in strict accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous rotorcraft experience is required for this position.
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- If an ATP is not held, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Holds a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot in Command (PIC) type rating.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training operations.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Possesses knowledge of common aviation regulations.
- Exhibits the ability to effectively manage classes and deliver instruction.
- Displays first-level facilitation skills necessary for guiding learning sessions.
- Provides excellent first-level customer service.
- Is coachable and open to receiving feedback to support continuous professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Specific physical requirements include:
- Ability to reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque pedals with both feet.
- Ability to reach and manipulate numerous controls within a simulator device from the instructor's chair.
- Ability to safely enter and exit a simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Ability to move between the instructor station, screen and podium while instructing in a classroom environment.
- Ability to exit a malfunctioned simulator device while the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and may work in high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
