Position Summary
FlightSafety International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Flight Instructor for a full-time position. The Flight Instructor is responsible for delivering world-class ground and simulator flight instruction, ensuring that all training adheres strictly to aviation regulations and FlightSafety's rigorous training principles. This role is pivotal in shaping the next generation of aviation professionals through expert guidance and comprehensive instruction.
Key Responsibilities
The Flight Instructor performs a variety of essential duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment training courses.
- Developing and preparing high-quality training materials that support effective delivery and meet client needs, in strict accordance with applicable curricula.
- Evaluating and meticulously measuring trainee progress, subsequently making informed recommendations for qualification or suggesting additional training as required.
- Completing precise and thorough training records specific to each client, thereby facilitating their success in achieving their requested aviation objectives.
- Proactively identifying potential client training issues and seeking appropriate assistance or guidance prior to the execution of training sessions.
- Maintaining all necessary Instructor qualifications in full compliance with current regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Candidates for the Flight Instructor position must possess the following:
- Willingness and ability to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- An unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
- If an ATP is not held, the candidate must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-In-Command (PIC) type rating.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military aviation training environments.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The role of Flight Instructor requires certain physical capabilities to effectively perform duties in various environments:
- Regularly uses hands for fine manipulation, reaching with hands and arms, and engaging in verbal communication.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and perceive through taste or smell.
- Possesses the physical range of body motion necessary to:
- Reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls and/or anti-torque pedals with both feet.
- Reach and manipulate numerous controls within a simulator device from the instructor’s chair.
- Safely enter and exit a simulator device via the provided ramp.
- Move efficiently between the instructor station, screen, and podium while instructing in a classroom setting.
- Exit from a malfunctioned simulator, even when the device is in a severely pitched attitude.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently works near moving mechanical parts within the work environment.
- May occasionally work in high or precarious places, in outside weather conditions, and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration.
