Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world’s leading professional aviation training company, seeks a dedicated Flight Instructor to deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction. The successful candidate will uphold aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles while instructing pilots in core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training, adhering to established curriculum.
- Develop and prepare training materials to meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress, recommending qualifications or further training as necessary.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client.
- Identify and proactively address client training issues.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must participate in FlightSafety's DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an equivalent ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License.
- If not holding an ATP, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- Minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating.
- Preferred experience includes FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training.
- Preferred: 2,500 hours of total flight time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage classes and deliver instruction.
- Possesses strong facilitation and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be coachable and receptive to feedback.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role requires regular use of hands for manipulating controls, reaching, and communicating. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, stoop, and move between various positions. Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus are necessary. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently. The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, varying weather conditions, and occasional exposure to other potentially hazardous elements. The employee must be capable of reaching, exerting pressure and manipulating rudder controls and other simulator equipment, and exiting a malfunctioned simulator.
