FlightSafety provides training for pilots, technicians, and other aviation professionals worldwide, operating the largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and offering award-winning maintenance training.
The Flight Instructor delivers exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles. This individual will conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses. They will develop and prepare training materials aligned with the curriculum to meet client needs, and evaluate trainee progress, recommending qualification or further training as necessary. Accurate training records will be maintained for each client, supporting their successful achievement of training objectives. The Flight Instructor will identify and address client training issues proactively, and maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum experience requires participation in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program. Candidates must possess an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License. Alternatively, they must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation. A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential. Desired qualifications include FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience, and 2,500 hours of total flight time.
The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of aviation safety standards, practices, and common aviation regulations. They will demonstrate the ability to manage classes and teach effectively, exhibiting strong facilitation and customer service skills. A willingness to be coached and receive feedback is crucial for ongoing professional development.
The role involves physical demands including using hands, reaching, talking, and hearing. The employee may stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, or smell. The individual must possess the physical range of motion to manipulate simulator controls with both feet and hands, enter and exit the simulator, move between the instructor station and podium, and exit a malfunctioning simulator. Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment involves potential exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, outside weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
