Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International

Purpose of the Position:
The Flight Instructor will provide superior ground and simulator flight training, adhering strictly to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive pilot training in ground school and simulator environments across core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare high-quality training materials tailored to meet specific client needs and align with applicable curricula.
- Evaluate trainee progress, providing constructive feedback and recommending appropriate qualification pathways or further training as necessary.
- Maintain meticulous training records for each client, ensuring transparency and contributing to their successful completion of the training objectives.
- Proactively identify potential training challenges and seek appropriate assistance to ensure effective instruction.
- Maintain all required Instructor qualifications in accordance with relevant regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eligible to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License issued by an ICAO member state.
- If an ATP certificate is not held, the candidate must meet the requirements outlined in 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating is required.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 operations, or military flight training.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours total flight time.

- Comprehensive understanding of aviation safety standards and best practices.
- Thorough knowledge of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training classes and deliver engaging instruction.
- Strong facilitation skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrated receptiveness to coaching and feedback for continuous professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position demands a physical capability to perform tasks including, but not limited to: reaching, manipulating controls (rudder pedals, simulator controls), entering and exiting simulators, moving between instructor station and classroom areas, and potentially exiting a malfunctioning simulator in a compromised position. The role requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds will be required. The work environment may involve moving mechanical parts, exposure to varying weather conditions, potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
