Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world's leading professional aviation training company, seeks a highly qualified Flight Instructor. This individual will deliver exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients participating in core, specialty, and enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials that effectively support course delivery and meet client needs, in accordance with the applicable curriculum.
- Evaluate and measure trainee progress, providing recommendations for qualification or further training.
- Maintain accurate training records for each client, facilitating their success in achieving objectives.
- Proactively identify and address client training issues, seeking assistance as needed.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- If lacking an ATP, must meet the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential.
- Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training is preferred.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Solid understanding of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
- Possess first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Must be coachable and receptive to feedback to support professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This role requires physical dexterity, including the ability to use hands and fingers, reach, talk, and hear. The employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus, are required. The role also includes physical demands such as reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating rudder controls with both feet, and manipulating simulator controls. The employee must be able to enter and exit the simulator device and move between the instructor station, screen, and podium. The ability to exit a malfunctioning simulator is essential. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The role is performed near moving mechanical parts and may include exposure to precarious places, varying weather conditions, humidity, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, radiation risks, and vibration.
