Flight Instructor Position at FlightSafety International

Purpose of the Position:
The Flight Instructor will provide superior ground and simulator-based flight training, adhering strictly to all aviation regulations and FlightSafety's established training principles.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive pilot training in core, specialty, and enrichment courses, utilizing both ground school and simulator environments.
- Develop and prepare client-specific training materials aligned with curriculum requirements and individual needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for qualification or further training.
- Maintain meticulous training records for each client, facilitating their success in achieving stated objectives.
- Proactively identify and address potential training issues, seeking assistance as necessary.
- Uphold and maintain all required Instructor qualifications in compliance with applicable regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Participation in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program is mandatory.
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, or an equivalent Airline Transport Pilot License from an ICAO member state.
- For candidates without an ATP certificate, adherence to the requirements of 14 CFR part 61.153 and 14 CFR part 61.64 (without Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitations) is essential.
- A minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) type rating is required.
- Preferred: Experience in FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121 operations, or military flight training.
- Preferred: A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time.

- Comprehensive understanding of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to effectively manage training classes and deliver engaging instruction.
- Strong facilitation skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The position requires a wide range of physical motion, including reaching, exerting pressure, and manipulating flight controls within the simulator. This includes entering and exiting the simulator, moving between instructor stations, and maintaining proficiency in varied classroom settings. The role may involve lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 10 pounds regularly. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, outdoor conditions, and potential hazards such as extreme temperatures, chemicals, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment are required.
