Position Overview
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is actively seeking qualified candidates for the First Officer position on a Citation Sovereign aircraft, based in St. Louis, Missouri (KSUS). This role offers a dynamic and engaging career opportunity within an exceptionally stable Part 135 flight department that has been expertly managed by the EJM team for over five years. The position is characterized by its inherent variety, with no routine routes; flight crews will experience a broad spectrum of destinations and regularly navigate new airports.
The First Officer is responsible for the welfare of passengers, ensuring all aspects of cabin safety and service are meticulously managed. This includes being trained and proficient in the appropriate abnormal and emergency procedures, as well as all cabin systems and operational protocols. Reporting directly to the Chief Pilot, the First Officer is accountable for the performance of all assigned duties contributing to the safe and efficient execution of flight assignments. Furthermore, the First Officer is responsible to the assigned Pilot in Command (PIC) for all duties delegated for each specific trip.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pilot duties in strict adherence to the Company General Operations Manual (GOM), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations, Operations Specifications, Flight Manuals, and all other pertinent instructions.
- Ensure the company's objectives for safety, security, and quality are met through continuous compliance with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program.
- Proactively report any safety, security, or quality recommendations or observations of non-compliance through the established reporting processes.
- Conduct post-flight inspections of the aircraft interior, including but not limited to, ensuring the cleanliness of the cockpit area and removal of any remaining catering items, and reporting any observed interior equipment discrepancies to the PIC.
- Coordinate with the Flight Operations Center to arrange and procure all necessary cabin items, including catering, as identified for each flight.
- Consistently provide the highest standard of customer service to all passengers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the Chief Pilot to coordinate all work schedules and manage any schedule changes.
- Accurately log and report all flight and duty times.
- Report all commercial flying activities performed outside of EJM to the Flight Operations Center for accurate inclusion in Flight and Duty Time Records.
- Maintain and submit a current copy of the First Class Medical Certificate to the Flight Operations Training Department by the twentieth (20th) day of the month it is due.
Qualifications and Requirements
- ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) certificate.
- Previous Part 135 (P135) experience is required.
- Preference will be given to local candidates.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the St. Louis metropolitan area.
- Demonstrated strong prioritizing and organizational skills, with the proven ability to manage multiple high-level priorities concurrently.
- Proactive decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to uphold a high service standard within a strict and evolving regulatory environment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Must obtain an FAA Type Rating for the Citation Sovereign if not already typed.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 2,500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 500 hours
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 500 hours
- Instrument Time: 150 hours
- Jet Flight Time: 250 hours
- Turbine Engine Flight Time: 100 hours
