Purpose of Position

EJM is seeking qualified candidates to serve as a Pilot in Command for an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft based in Miami, FL. This is a full-time position operating under Part 135 regulations, supporting an aircraft owner with a passion for aviation. The role involves working within a multiple pilot rotation, supported by a Cabin Attendant. While the aircraft is based in Miami (Opa-locka, FL), crew members are homebased and have the option to commute. Preference will be given to candidates holding an EMB 145 type rating and those residing near a major airport with multiple flight options. Frequent destinations include major hubs like New York, Miami, Teterboro, Aspen, and Scottsdale, as well as international operations to the Caribbean and Canada.

The Pilot in Command holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This includes adhering to all company policies and regulatory requirements while consistently delivering an outstanding service experience to owners and passengers.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The Pilot in Command's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the Safe Operation of Flight:
    • Ensuring all crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
    • Completing comprehensive flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks.
    • Leading pre-flight briefings using the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks.
    • Adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinating with company personnel as required.
    • Serving as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
    • Performing thorough aircraft pre-flight tasks, verifying the aircraft's maintenance status and mission capability. Recording all aircraft discrepancies in accordance with company SOPs.
    • Monitoring and ensuring all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are accomplished per SOPs.
    • Conducting passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation, ensuring the highest level of customer service, and accommodating special passenger needs.
    • Utilizing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) for clear and timely communication during all phases of flight.
  • Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
    • Providing quality service to owners and passengers and identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Investigating and resolving service deviations.
    • Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to ensure a consistent service experience. Resolving conflict and challenges constructively.
  • Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
    • Maintaining all required regulatory and company training and recency of experience.
    • Complying with the company SMS program and reporting safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.

Certifications and Licenses

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate is required.

Years of Experience

Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

  • Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
  • FAA Type rating in the Embraer Legacy (EMB 145) is required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
    • Total flight time: 3500 hours
    • Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
    • Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
    • PIC MEL: 500 hours
    • Instrument: 300 hours
    • Jet: 500 hours
