Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 550
Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company and a pioneer in aircraft management and worldwide jet charter services since 1977, is seeking a qualified Pilot in Command for a Gulfstream 550 aircraft based in East Granby, CT (BDL). This is a four-pilot account supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician and Cabin Attendant, operating under Part 91. The ideal candidate will reside within a two-hour drive of BDL and possess extensive international flight experience. Typed and current candidates are strongly preferred.
The Pilot in Command (PIC) holds ultimate responsibility for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. He complies with all company and regulatory requirements while delivering an exceptional service experience.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures crewing and trip assignments are compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
- Completes flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment.
- Utilizes Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead required briefings and mitigate operational risks.
- Complies with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinates with company personnel. Acts as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator.
- Completes all aircraft pre-flight tasks, including verification of the maintenance status, to ensure mission readiness. Records all aircraft discrepancies per company SOPs.
- Ensures all aircraft ground servicing items (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.) are monitored and accomplished per SOPs.
- Completes passenger briefings in accordance with company policy and regulation, delivering the highest level of customer service and meeting any special needs.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) to communicate effectively with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
- Provides quality service to owners and passengers, identifying opportunities to enhance the Executive Jet Management service experience and resolving service deviations.
- Collaborates with crew members and Executive Jet Management partners to provide a consistent service experience, resolving conflicts and challenges acceptably.
- Maintains regulatory and company-required training and recency of experience.
- Complies with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) and reports safety or non-compliance concerns.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation preferred.
- FAA Type rating in applicable fleet.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.
Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $425,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
