Job Overview
The Oil Spill Response 737 Captain position is established to ensure the safe and efficient operation of a specially modified Boeing 737-500 aircraft. This critical role involves the deployment of a spray system designed for the application of dispersant on oil spills. The operational scope primarily encompasses U.S. coastal waters, including Alaska, Hawaii, and the Caribbean region.
Key Responsibilities
- Command and pilot the modified 737-500 aircraft safely and efficiently.
- Operate specialized spray systems for oil spill dispersant application.
- Adhere to all flight regulations and company policies.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and post-flight debriefings.
- Contribute to mission success in time-sensitive oil spill response operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2000 total flight hours.
- Minimum of 1000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- Minimum of 1000 hours of multi-engine turbine aircraft experience.
- Minimum of 50 hours of instrument flight time.
- Minimum of 200 hours of experience in the Boeing 737 Classic (737CL) series.
Preferred Qualifications
- Airline Training Captain experience is highly preferred.
- Experience in low-level flight operations or special mission aviation is advantageous.
Work Environment
This role operates in a specialized aviation environment, focused on critical environmental response missions. Operations will predominantly occur over U.S. coastal waters, potentially including remote and challenging locations.
