Upon joining, individuals typically commence as Probationary Captains and receive a Falcon 20 Type Rating course. Following qualification, they will initially operate from the right-hand seat as First Officers until acquiring the requisite experience and skills for Captaincy. As a UK CAA Part-CAT operator, Draken requires pilots transitioning to Captaincy to hold an ATPL and demonstrate suitable aircraft-specific, civilian, and tactical experience.
