Flight Training Procedures Instructor
Delta Air Lines seeks a highly skilled and motivated Flight Training Procedures Instructor to contribute to our comprehensive pilot training program. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging training modules for new hire pilots, returning-to-work pilots, and instructor/evaluators, adhering strictly to company policies and all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
Responsibilities:
This crucial role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Developing and conducting classroom and instructor-led technical training sessions.
- Administering knowledge assessments and hands-on practical drills.
- Facilitating training on essential topics such as security protocols, operational specifications, aircraft operating manuals, crew member responsibilities, aircraft performance, weight and balance calculations, electronic flight bag (EFB) utilization, flight planning, and dispatch procedures.
- Delivering instruction on Principles of Instruction (POI), covering fundamental teaching methodologies, effective instructional techniques, student performance evaluation strategies, and advanced communication skills.
- Evaluating student progress, preparing students for end-of-course examinations, and assisting with course scheduling and logistical arrangements.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of e-learning and instructor-led training (ILT) programs.
- Maintaining unwavering commitment to safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated prioritization of safety and security for self, others, and sensitive data.
- Embraces diversity in thought, style, and background.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Authorization to work in the United States; minimum age 18.
- Minimum two-year college degree or equivalent experience as an instructor/facilitator.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Eligibility to obtain an FAA Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate (AGI) within twelve months of hire (unless already held).
- Successful completion of Delta Instructor/Evaluator Indoctrination curriculum and Academic Instructor Qualification curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience instructing technical, non-technical, and compliance training programs.
- Experience with air carrier training programs.
- Possession of an FAA Ground Instructor Certificate with Advanced and/or Instrument Rating (AGI or IGI).
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating, or military equivalent.
- FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate or military equivalent.
