How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Conducts instruction of general subjects in Fleet Common Programs and actively participates in the development of supporting courseware. Facilitates the Pilot Instructor/Evaluator Indoctrination program (train the trainer), Week 1 New Hire Pilot Indoctrination, Day 1 of Return to-Work Reorientation, Principles of Instruction, Pilot Professional Development / Pilot Leadership. Director for Virtual Learning scheduled events and develops supporting courseware. Uses professional expertise in subjects such as Crew Resources Management (CRM), and Aircraft Operating Manuals (AOMs) to deliver instructor-led training to pilots required by Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR). Uses professional expertise in subjects such as adult learning theory, communication skills, instructional methodologies and evaluation strategies to deliver instructor-led training to pilot instructors and evaluators. Courseware development includes working with departmental teams and external vendors to create instructor guides, student materials, computer-based training, online resources and support video production. Must have solid working knowledge of the Instructional Systems Design (ISD) process. Practices safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

This position requires highly developed skills in classroom instruction/facilitation and training program development. This position requires the full-scale development, from concept to implementation, of Fleet Common Programs and Fleet Training programs.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

+ Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

+ Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

+ Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

+ Three or more years instructor/facilitator experience required.

+ Experience in courseware development with a classroom application required.

+ Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.

+ Experience with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required.

+ Should be able to work effectively in team teaching environment with representatives from differing backgrounds and functions within the company.

+ Internal candidates must be performing satisfactorily in present position.  

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

+ Bachelor’s degree preferred.

+ Basic knowledge of Delta Operations, with experience in training preferred.

+ Knowledge of Crew Resource Management and Human Factors concepts preferred.

+ ASTD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or ISPI Certified Performance Technologist (CPT) certification preferred.
