Pilot-in-Command (PIC), HondaJet HA420
Location: Remote (Based at John Wayne-Orange County Airport, CA)
Cutter Aviation is actively searching for an energetic and highly knowledgeable aviation professional to fulfill the role of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for a new HondaJet HA420. Although the administrative support is based in Phoenix, AZ (PHX), the PIC will primarily operate remotely from the John Wayne-Orange County Airport in California.
This critical role involves managing single-pilot operations that support the owner's travel requirements (Part 91) and executing scheduled on-demand charter flights (Part 135). The PIC serves as the primary external representative of Cutter Aviation and must be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator, dedicated to providing world-class customer service to both the aircraft owner and charter clients. The position requires proactive on-site management and continuous liaison with Cutter Flight Management regarding all phases of aircraft operation and support. The PIC is relied upon as the company’s representative to aircraft owners, operators, business partners, and the broader business aviation community.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain an uncompromising commitment to safety in all facets of flight and ground operations.
- Execute duties as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on the HA420 HondaJet during Part 91 and Part 135 on-demand charter operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations pertaining to actual flight, crew qualifications, currency, fitness for flight, and aircraft maintenance compliance.
- Adhere to established company procedures for reporting operational irregularities, maintaining flight and ground check records, and ensuring meticulous documentation.
- Provide world-class customer service and foster professional relationships with clients and partners.
- Be available 24/7 year-round, demonstrating the ability to adapt seamlessly to rotating schedules and short-notice callouts.
- Perform additional administrative duties as directed by the Director of Operations and the Chief Pilot.
Minimum Professional Requirements
Candidates must satisfy the following essential criteria to be considered:
- Possession of a Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
- Must hold a current 1st Class Medical Certificate or demonstrate the ability to qualify for one immediately.
- A clean record free of any accidents, incidents, or FAA sanctions within the past five (5) years.
- Demonstrated knowledge of general aviation aircraft, their service requirements, and the needs of executive crews and passengers.
- Ability to pass a mandatory background check and drug screening test.
- Possession of a high school diploma or GED and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following experience levels:
- 3,000 Total Flight Hours
- 1,500 Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Hours
- 250 PIC Hours in turbine-powered aircraft
- Previous Turbojet Type Rating and/or Turboprop experience.
- Previous experience in on-demand charter operations (Part 135).
- Prior training completed at a recognized flight safety organization (e.g., FSI or Simuflite Training).
