Pilot-in-Command - HondaJet HA420 (Based Orange County, CA)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Remote position based at John Wayne-Orange County Airport, CA)
Position Summary:
Cutter Aviation is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable aviation professional to serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for a new HondaJet HA420 aircraft. Based at the John Wayne-Orange County Airport in California, this role involves single-pilot operations supporting the owner's travel requirements and participating in charter flying under Part 91 and Part 135 regulations. As this is a remote position, the PIC serves as a primary representative of Cutter Aviation. The successful candidate must be an exceptional relationship builder and communicator, driven to provide world-class customer service to the owner and clients. This position also requires on-site management and liaison with Cutter Flight Management regarding all phases of aircraft operations and support. The PIC acts as an external representative of Cutter Aviation to aircraft owners, operators, business partners, and the business aviation community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides world-class service with an uncompromising commitment to safety.
- Available 24/7 year-round, adapting to rotating schedules and short-notice callouts.
- Serves as PIC on the HA420 HondaJet for Part 91 and 135 on-demand charter operations.
- Follows established procedures for reporting irregularities during flights and ground checks, and maintains accurate records.
- Ensures compliance with all FAA regulations pertaining to flight operations, pilot qualifications, currency, fitness for flight, and aircraft compliance.
- Performs additional administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot.
Minimum Requirements:
- Holds a Multi-Engine Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
- Possesses or is able to qualify for a current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Must not have any accidents, incidents, or sanctions in the past 5 years.
- Demonstrates knowledge of general aviation aircraft, their service requirements, and the needs of crews and passengers.
- Attention to detail and ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Excellent ability to multi-task, develop friendly rapport, and maintain a professional appearance and mannerisms.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Possesses a sincere desire to assist customers and contribute to a team.
- Capable of training a Second-in-Command (SIC) pilot to properly perform their functions.
- Exhibits excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates possessing:
- 3000 Total Flight Hours.
- 1500 Pilot-in-Command Hours.
- 250 Pilot-in-Command Hours in turbine-powered aircraft.
- Previous experience in on-demand charter operations.
- Previous FSI or Simuflite Training.
- Previous Turbojet Type Rating and/or Turboprop experience.
Other Requirements:
- Must possess a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass a drug screening test.
- Must hold a High School Diploma or GED.
