Constellation, the nation's largest producer of clean, carbon-free energy, seeks a highly qualified and safety-focused Aircraft Captain (Pilot in Command - PIC) to join its dedicated Transportation Department. The Captain plays a critical role in conducting safe and efficient flight operations, adhering rigorously to all applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), the Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), Aircraft Flight Manuals (AFM), the Constellation Aviation Operations Manual (AOM), and all relevant country and local regulations. The Captain provides exceptional customer service, functions as a decisive, solutions-focused leader, and maintains crucial communication channels with the Chief Pilot, the Transportation Department team, internal company stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure seamless mission accomplishment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Aircraft Captain holds primary responsibility for the secure and efficient transportation of passengers and crewmembers, actively promoting a robust safety culture within the Transportation Department. Key responsibilities include:
- Assuming overall responsibility for the safe execution of flight operations as Pilot in Command (PIC).
- Supervising the copilot (Second in Command - SIC) and any additional crewmembers assigned to the trip.
- Upholding all security protocols to safeguard passengers, crew, and the aircraft, while maintaining readiness to manage emergency situations both in flight and on the ground.
- Developing and maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and accurately applying initial response actions during emergency drills or actual emergencies.
- Actively participating in the Safety Management System (SMS) by ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry safety best practices, and established protocols.
- Utilizing safety reporting procedures, the Continuous Improvement process, and other mechanisms to cultivate a proactive and healthy safety culture within the Transportation Department.
- Collaborating with the Chief Pilot to ensure that all flights and flight crew members strictly adhere to pertinent aviation regulations, company policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all flight and operational activities in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Identifying and proposing opportunities for continuous process improvements, cost reduction strategies, and increased efficiency within flight operations. Implementing new technologies, advanced training programs, or industry best practices to enhance overall productivity and safety performance.
- Accepting and proficiently performing additional operational or administrative duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot, which may include responsibilities related to training and evaluating flight crew members and other operational personnel.
- Providing technical guidance, overseeing training programs and records, offering ongoing coaching, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a positive and professional work environment.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum criteria to be considered for the Aircraft Captain position:
- A minimum of four (4) years of demonstrable experience as a corporate, commercial, or military pilot.
- Possession of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and a current Instrument Rating for the specific category of aircraft to be operated.
- Must maintain Pilot in Command (PIC) qualifications on at least one type of company aircraft.
- Thorough knowledge of the content within the Aviation Operations Manual, Training Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and the provisions of Titles 14 (Aeronautics and Space) and 49 (Transportation) of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) and necessary standards to fulfill all job duties.
- Physical ability to lift forty (40) pounds to shoulder level, required for baggage loading and unloading duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Holding a type rating for at least one of the following aircraft types: DA-2EASY or G-VII.
