Cirrus seeks a Production Flight Test Pilot to conduct flight tests on newly manufactured or modified aircraft at their Duluth, Minnesota facility. This full-time, onsite role focuses on evaluating aircraft performance, functionality, and safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting engineering and production teams.
About the Role

Execute flight test plans for newly manufactured or modified aircraft.

Evaluate aircraft systems, performance, handling, and stability.

Identify and document aircraft behavior and anomalies.

Ensure compliance with Type Design, FAA, and company quality requirements.

Record and document aircraft performance data and any deviations from established criteria.

Perform preflight inspections, weight & balance computations, and performance calculations.

Make go/no-go decisions based on weather, aircraft status, and safety policies.

Observe and operate instruments and equipment during test flights.

Assist and train other test pilots as needed.

May require weekend work, varied shifts, and occasional overnight or international travel.

Must be comfortable piloting non-pressurized aircraft to high altitudes.
Requirements

Minimum of 1500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) flight time.

Experience in a variety of high-performance aircraft.

FAA Commercial or ATP pilot's license with airplane single engine and instrument ratings.

Valid First- or Second-Class Medical certificate.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Passport or the ability to obtain one.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is preferred.

Seven or more years of engineering experience or aircraft A&P mechanic experience is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Experience in aerobatics, tailwheel, or military flight is a plus.

A background in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar technical experience is highly desired.

A Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) is desired.
