Overview
CAE is seeking a dedicated Simulator Pilot Instructor / Lead Instructor to deliver high-quality aircrew training for the KC-30A MRTT aircraft. In this role, the successful candidate will facilitate safe, effective, and compliant simulator-based training in accordance with RAAF AIT standards, while contributing to a high-performing team and upholding the core values of CAE.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver simulator-based pilot instruction aligned with RAAF AIT and CAE training standards for the KC-30A MRTT.

Maintain authorization as a competent Simulator Pilot Instructor as approved by the Commanding Officer of RAAF CFS.

Conduct aircrew training activities in strict adherence to approved syllabi, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Provide professional, clear, and effective instruction, assessment, and constructive feedback to trainees.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional quality, safety, and training delivery.

Collaborate effectively within a high-performing instructional and operational team.

Uphold CAE values, safety standards, and professional conduct at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Possess, or demonstrate the ability to obtain, authorization from the Commanding Officer of RAAF CFS as a competent Simulator Pilot Instructor for the KC-30A MRTT.

Hold, or possess the ability to obtain, a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or recognized equivalent experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of Military Qualified Flying Instructor (QFI) or Operational Flying Instructor (OFI) experience in an aircrew training environment (or military equivalent), or meet one of the following thresholds:

Minimum of 1,000 command hours on a military air-to-air refuelling aircraft; or
-
Minimum of 1,000 hours as first pilot on an Airbus aircraft; or
-
Previous qualification as a KC-30A MRTT Captain.

Hold a minimum civilian Grade 2 instructor rating and meet at least one of the following:

Minimum of 1,000 command hours on a military air-to-air refuelling aircraft.

Minimum of 1,000 hours as first pilot on an Airbus aircraft.

Previous qualification as a KC-30A MRTT Captain.

Australian citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities.

Demonstrated commitment to upholding CAE values.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Leadership experience within an aviation training environment.

Previous Military QFI or OFI experience specific to the KC-30A MRTT aircraft.

Current or previous Military Qualified Flying Instructor or Operational Flying Instructor rating (or civil equivalent) with a minimum of 500 hours in airborne instruction and training roles.

Prior experience as a flight simulator instructor.
