Air Refuelling Operator Instructor - KC-30A

Job Overview

The Air Refuelling Operator Instructor is responsible for the successful delivery of all training tasks, ensuring end-user training outcomes are met within time, cost, and quality constraints. This role reports to the KC-30A Lead Instructor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and develop flight crew training events for customer air refuelling operators during ground and flight simulator training at local and remote sites.
  • Conduct comprehensive briefings and debriefings to ensure customer air refuelling operators are aware of their expected and actual performance during training events.
  • Evaluate and document customer air refuelling operator performance and progress during training sessions, ensuring timely record and report completion.
  • Communicate with simulator maintenance technicians to report identified simulator problems or malfunctions.
  • Complete required pre-training administrative activities to ensure training resources (classrooms, briefing rooms, simulators) are prepared and ready for training sessions.
  • Complete all initial and recurrent training activities required to establish and maintain licensing, qualification, and instructor standardization as required by CAE and/or regulatory authorities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Strong Air to Air Refuelling experience on KC-30A/MRTT, KC-135, KC-10, or KC-46.
  • More than 1000 hours of experience as an Air Refuelling Operator.
  • More than 100 hours of experience as an Instructor.
  • Previous military AAR Boom, hose, and drogue experience.
  • Hold qualifications and experience necessary to be authorized by the CO CFS or delegate as a competent simulator instructor to train Air Refuelling Operators.
  • Possession of a Cert IV Training and Assessment qualification, or willingness to obtain one.

Location

RAAF Base Amberley, QLD. This is an on-site role.

Security Requirements

Eligibility to obtain a Defence Security Clearance is mandatory, as the Australian Department of Defence is a major client. Eligibility for a clearance requires Australian Citizenship.
