Role Responsibilities
The Instructor Pilot is responsible for delivering flight and ground school training using flight simulators in strict adherence to regulatory agency standards, CAE's approved curriculum, and customer specifications. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the Instructor Pilot will guide clients through their training programs. Following 1.5 years of service, and based on business needs, designated instructors are expected to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and a customer contract check airman.
- Provides simulator, flight, or classroom instruction for one or more aircraft types as assigned, covering the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training, certificates, and pilot qualifications.
- Conducts comprehensive and professional pre and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- Manages essential administrative duties, including completing training records, recommending remedial training, and tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity.
- Contributes to the creation of curricula and courseware as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) when required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of an unrestricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or meets qualifications to obtain one, along with a minimum of one unrestricted Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Type Rating.
- A demonstrated passion for teaching, supported by strong communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and other internet-based programs.
- Must participate in CAE’s DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Experience flying business aircraft is considered a strong asset.
- Must be authorized to live and work in the United States.

Physical Requirements
This role requires:
- The physical dexterity necessary for tasks involving hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- The ability to remain seated in a confined space for 4-6 hour durations with limited breaks.
- The capacity to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours, with limited breaks.
- The ability to sit, stoop, climb, and perform twisting and turning motions.
