Key Responsibilities and Duties
The CAE Instructor Pilot is responsible for the professional delivery of world-class flight training in both flight simulators and ground school environments. Duties must align meticulously with the appropriate regulatory agency standards, CAE-approved curriculum, and specific customer requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive simulator, flight, or classroom instruction for the issuance of licenses, type ratings, internal training certifications, and pilot qualifications for assigned aircraft types.
- Lead thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in strict accordance with established CAE standards.
- Manage essential administrative duties, including the accurate and timely completion of training records, tracking personal instructional qualifications and activity, and recommending remedial training when necessary.
- Serve as a critical Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the creation and development of curricula and courseware when designated.
- Post 1.5+ years of successful service, and based on business necessity, designated Instructors may be required to qualify as a Training Center Evaluator (TCE) and customer contract check airman.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet rigorous professional aviation standards and possess the following:
- Possession of an unrestricted Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
- The ability to readily obtain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) license (requires a Category 1 medical certificate for initial issuance).
- A minimum of 1,500 hours of documented multi-crew flight experience.
- Proven proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and various internet-based programs.
- Demonstrated passion for teaching, complemented by exceptionally strong communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to live and work in Canada.

Physical Requirements of the Position
The Instructor Pilot role requires certain physical capabilities necessary to perform duties within the training environment:
- Ability to sit in confined spaces for extended periods (typically 4–6 hours) with limited breaks.
- Ability to stand for extended durations (up to 10 hours) with limited breaks.
- Physical dexterity required for fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination necessary for operational tasks.
- Ability to perform various movements, including sitting, stooping, climbing, twisting, and turning.
