CAE is actively seeking highly qualified and experienced Rotary Wing Instructor Pilots to deliver exceptional flight training for new student pilots enrolled in the United States Air Force Air Education and Training Command's Introductory Flight Training – Rotary (IFT-R) program. This critical role is based at the CAE Dothan Training Center and is instrumental in preparing the next generation of military aviators.
The Rotary Wing Instructor Pilot will be responsible for conducting comprehensive contact flight training and instrument familiarization for the USAF IFT-R program. Working in close coordination with the CAE IFT-R Chief Pilot, Director of Quality Assurance, Standardization, and the USAF, the instructor pilot will participate in a robust standardization and training program. Essential duties include:
The role necessitates the ability to lift at least 40 pounds overhead, walk and/or climb stairs and ladders into simulators or aircraft cockpits, and stoop, bend, or crawl on top of or under equipment as needed. The employee must also be able to detect odors or hear specific noises, bangs, or other sounds to identify potential problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and their surrounding environment.
This position operates primarily within a professional classroom and office environment. It will also require exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures during outdoor activities or specific training scenarios. The role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing systems.
