The Role
The Ground School Instructor holds a pivotal position in delivering expert ground instruction and ensuring the highest standards of trainee comprehension and meticulous record-keeping. This role focuses on transforming existing aviation experience into specialized instructional expertise, guiding aspiring and recurrent aviation professionals through critical learning phases with precision and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
The Ground School Instructor will be responsible for:
- Delivering comprehensive instruction during the ground training phase of initial and recurrent courses, utilizing advanced VSIM technology.
- Providing expert instruction on Integrated Procedure Trainers (IPT) during initial ground school.
- Ensuring profound client comprehension of aircraft systems knowledge through engaging and informative lectures and reviews.
- Assisting, as required, with the development of cutting-edge courseware for various training programmes, ensuring accuracy and instructional effectiveness.
- Maintaining and updating training materials, ensuring their accuracy, relevance, and responsiveness to evolving client needs and industry standards.
- Participating as a "crew member" in the simulator when required, particularly during courses with uneven client numbers, to facilitate optimal training scenarios.
- Performing other duties as necessary to support training operations and ensure client success within the training environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Candidates are expected to demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:
- Exceptional classroom facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, fostering an engaging learning environment.
- Superior written and oral communication abilities, capable of conveying complex aviation information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, for creating and delivering impactful presentations.
- Advantageous: Prior in-depth knowledge of aircraft systems, acquired through professional experience as a qualified engineer or pilot.
- The ability to work effectively within established procedures while demonstrating adaptability and innovation when required to meet dynamic training demands.
- A strong commitment to quality, coupled with a continuous drive for process improvement and unparalleled customer satisfaction.
- The capacity to maintain focus and perform effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced training environment.

- A keen ability to assess clients' aircraft systems knowledge and determine their readiness to successfully pass final examinations.
- Extensive experience with client engagement and strong internal communication skills across all organizational levels within CAE.
Special Conditions
- Availability to work flexible hours, including public holidays and weekends, is required to meet operational needs.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be necessary to support training initiatives or company requirements.
