C-12 / King Air Multi-Engine Instructor Pilot
A leading aviation training provider seeks dedicated and experienced Multi-Engine Instructor Pilots to deliver comprehensive training for the C-12U aircraft and related training devices. These roles directly support the Army Fixed Wing Program and potentially other developing programs.
The Multi-Engine Instructor Pilot is responsible for providing student pilot instruction in various environments, including flight operations, classroom settings, flight simulators, and practical exercises. The Instructor delivers classes covering C-12U aircraft systems and operational procedures. Successful candidates may also serve as Subject Matter Experts, assisting in the development of new type course curriculum as required. Additional administrative duties may include courseware review, publications, safety initiatives, quality audits, flight crew information file management, and scheduling. A primary focus for the Instructor is ensuring a safe and secure training environment is maintained. The company provides initial training in the C-12U, including Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) certification by Aviation Performance Solutions (APS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Performs duties as an Instructor Pilot, Classroom Instructor, and Simulator Instructor.
- Assures strict compliance with applicable standards, including AR 95-20, AR 95-1, and FAA Part 141 Formal School requirements.
- Actively participates in the Quality Management System, adhering to quality procedures and safety programs.
- Remains current with changes and modifications to external aviation standards.
- Identifies and implements strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Supports the standardization, evaluation, and examiner plan, including scheduling audits, maintaining tracking databases, addressing deficiencies, and reporting.
- Interfaces with program personnel, customers, and internal staff to proactively identify and resolve quality assurance issues.
- Collaborates with various departments and management to identify and execute process improvement opportunities.
- Conducts all business activities in strict compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of six years of total flying experience.
- At least 1000 hours as Pilot in Command.
- A minimum of 500 hours as a Flight Instructor, with at least 250 hours instructing in multi-engine airplanes.
- Must hold a current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings.
- Must hold a current FAA Certificated Flight Instructor certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine and Instrument Airplane ratings (CFI, MEI, CFII), or possess military competency qualifications allowing immediate conversion to these ratings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA Class II Flight Medical Clearance.
- Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Secret Security Clearance.
- Demonstrated strong project instructional skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to effectively deliver oral presentations to students in classroom or simulator environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime, any shift, or any day of the week as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Instructor Pilot experience with the US Army, USAF, USN, or USMC.
- A Bachelor's degree.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The role may require domestic and international travel. Physical demands include the ability to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders into a simulator or airplane cockpit, stoop, bend, and crawl. The ability to detect odors or hear noises indicative of equipment issues is necessary. Work primarily occurs in an office environment utilizing standard office equipment. The role may involve working in areas with potential risk of electrical shock or exposure to high-pressure hydraulics, and occasional exposure to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
