Simulator Instructor
Role Overview:
The Simulator Instructor is a pivotal role responsible for delivering training activities in strict adherence to authority approvals, defined standards, and established processes. This position is crucial in upholding the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and training quality within the organization's Approved Training Organisation (ATO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct training duties in line with the designated job description.
- Rigorously follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Propose revisions to SOPs when necessary to enhance clarity or effectiveness.
- Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive courseware and training materials, including theoretical examinations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Monitor client/student progress diligently and, when required, develop focused action plans to support individuals not meeting required training standards.
- Champion and support continuous improvements and enhancements to processes, documentation, courseware, and training materials used by the ATO.
- Actively participate in Progress, Academic & Disciplinary Review Boards, offering recommendations for remedial actions concerning training progress or trainee disciplinary matters.
- Execute other duties as assigned by the Lead Instructor or Head of Training (HOT).
Requirements:
To be considered for this essential role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 1500 hours of pilot-in-command (PIC) time on a multi-crew jet transport aircraft.
- A valid Simulator Instructor Rating, or an equivalent rating or certification recognised by the relevant authority.
- Demonstrated previous experience as a Flight Simulator Instructor and/or Type Rating Instructor.
- Prior experience specifically within Airline or Approved Training Organisation (ATO) training environments.
- Held, or currently hold, an ICAO-recognised ATPL/CPL/MPL license with a minimum ICAO English Level 4 proficiency.
- A thorough understanding of civil aviation regulations governing civil aviation training operations.
- Exceptional motivation, discipline, and initiative, with a proven ability to deliver results promptly and potentially motivate others, including in remote working scenarios.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to forge strong professional relationships across all organisational levels and externally.
- Proven leadership capabilities and a successful track record of working effectively in diverse, multi-cultural settings.
- Basic IT proficiency and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
